‘But’ – Costacurta states Milan ‘have improved’ since Cremonese but still lack

A win on the board is huge for AC Milan, and there can be some positivity heading into the international break. 

It was not pretty, it was not special. However, Milan got three points, and after a summer of questions with few answers, sometimes that is all that is needed. In many respects, it is easy to get lost in the idea that things are bad, but are they?

On another night, the Rossoneri keep a clean sheet, scoring four times – maybe even more with chances from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Santiago Gimenez squandered. A good result, by all accounts.

However, errors were present, and Massimiliano Allegri’s side were denied twice by technology. It happens, but the Diavolo still got the win against a difficult opposition. Sometimes, after a busy summer of change, that is more than good enough.

Good or bad?

Speaking after the game, Billy Costacurta admitted that Milan had improved since the Cremonese defeat, but he did not say they were complete, to Calciomercato-L’Originale, via MilanNews.

“They’ve improved their concentration, and that alone has meant they’ve taken very few risks. They’ve scored in attack, even if they’ve squandered a few chances.”
