Rayan’s name has emerged as a potential target for AC Milan in the January mercato. However, a deal will not be easy.
There are several striker targets that Milan are currently considering. Whether they are possible is another thing entirely, though. For example, Jean-Philippe Mateta is a strong candidate, but €40 million in January is a big price.
Among the names of interest is Rayan, the 19-year old Brazilian starlet, who is currently playing for Vasco de Gama. His name has been mentioned fairly regularly as of late, but he would arrive at a high price.
Praise for Rayan
In fact, reports suggest that he has an €80m buy clause in his contract, but that could be lessened with Vasco’s need for finances. Speaking about the striker, who to many will be an unknown prospect, Cafu offered some information to Tuttosport and Calciomercato.com have relayed the legend’s words.
“I’m playing it safe with him. He could be a good fit for any big Italian team. Rayan is a fantastic talent. He has a lot of quality and is quick in one-on-one situations: he knows how to play football, but he also sees the goal.

“He’s only 19 and can become a truly great player. Role? Up front, with his creativity, he can play both as a centre-forward and a second striker; it depends on the coaches.”
Whether he is what is needed at the moment can certainly be debated, but he seems exciting.
