Camarda answers questions from kids on Milan debut, opponents and possible future at Inter

Francesco Camarda did not rule out the idea of joining Inter one day, while he recalled some of his favourite memories from his young career.

Last season, Camarda earned the distinction of becoming the youngest debutant in Serie A history, making his first appearance for Milan on 25 November 2023. He was just 15 years and 260 days at that point, and came on for Luka Jović in the 83rd minute of a 1-0 victory against Fiorentina.

In the summer, the decision was made to allow the teenager to join Lecce on a season-long loan. He got his first top flight goal late in 2025, but he has struggled for minutes overall and now faces a while out after undergoing shoulder surgery.

Camarda was a guest on the Panini Sport Italia YouTube channel and met with young students from the Marcelline Institute for the ‘Draw with Footballers’. He answered questions from the floor which MilanPress relayed.

What was your Serie A debut like?

“It was a wonderful feeling. I was small compared to the other players. It was like a roller coaster, but an indescribable feeling that I wish for everyone. Truly beautiful.”

What is your favourite goal?

“The most important one is the one in Lecce-Bologna, my first goal in Serie A, it’s a memory that will stay with me for the rest of my life. The best was in Milan-Cagliari two years ago.”

Could you ever play for Inter?

“I’m at Lecce now, I prefer to focus on the present. We’ll never know what happens next, but for now, let’s focus on this year.”

Do you hear the coach’s advice from the pitch?

“It happens very rarely. The fans shout so much, so the coach’s instructions are barely heard from the pitch. In football, it’s very important to talk to team-mates and you have to help each other.”

Who is your favourite player?

“I don’t have a particular favorite, but I’ve always looked at Suarez, Ibrahimovic, Ronaldo with different eyes… there are so many players you can take inspiration from to continually improve.”

When you team concedes a goal, how do you feel?

“There’s always a bit of disappointment. It’s not just bad for the goalkeeper, but for the whole team. It’s a bad feeling, but it motivates you to score more.”

How do you build a strong team?

“You need trust, a good group, and obviously strong players. But the most important thing is for everyone to be united as a family.”

When did you start playing football?

“I started at 4 and a half, and by 5 I was already at AC Milan. From 5 to 17 I was at AC Milan, and now this year I’m at Lecce.”

Who is the toughest player you faced?

“I think it’s Bremer from Juventus, he’s very strong, but I’ve faced a lot of strong players like Gabbia, Pavlovic, De Vrij – there are so many. The toughest one, though, was Bremer.”
