Nicolò Cambiaghi admits that Bologna have ‘some regrets’ about the AC Milan game, but praised the opposition too.

It was a strange game to analyse from a Bologna perspective as they actually controlled large parts of the match at San Siro, registering around 60% possession depending on which data source you believe.

Despite this, they were never really able to break Milan down and the zero shots on target shows this. In the end it was a Luka Modric strike from the edge of the box on 60 minutes that decided the contest and the Rossoblu fell to a second defeat in three games without scoring.

Cambiaghi actually thought he had scored in the first half but was flagged offside. He spoke at a press conference just after his head coach Vincenzo Italiano, and he gave his thoughts on a tough night for his side, with MilanNews publishing his words.

Could you have taken some more risks?

“We have some regrets; the match was decided by one incident. But we have to work.”

How have Milan changed since May?

“That match was a final, a game in itself. But overall it’s difficult: Milan have strong players, valuable players, and we need to speed up the game to make an impact, not just let them get into positions.”

Were the fans missing today?

“It was a different atmosphere today, but then on the pitch we are focused on the match and what happens off the pitch stays on the sidelines.”
