The permanent exits of Alex Jimenez and Tommaso Pobega will see AC Milan record a single-season capital gains record, a report claims.
As Calcio e Finanza report, Milan are weighed down by the absence of European competitions this season which means the revenues take a hit. However, the permanent sales of Jimenez to Bournemouth and Pobega to Bologna inject further oxygen into the accounts.
With around €80m missing from having no Champions League football, Milan have recorded an all-time record for capital gains. According to their estimates, the total figure amounts to €91.7m, and it could rise even further if other buy-outs happen, like Samuel Chukwueze who is at Fulham.
The estimates need to be compared with the official figures for the financial statements ending on June 30, 2026. However, Malick Thiaw’s sale stands out, which is expected to generate a capital gain of just over €32m. Theo Hernandez’s exit to Al-Hilal should net €22.1m.
In third place is Alex Jimenez’s €15m. In this case, it should be noted that the capital gain is calculated on the total amount received by Milan, which will then be added to the costs of the amount owed to Real Madrid based on the agreements with Los Blancos regarding the player’s resale.

Below are all the current season’s transactions and the related capital gains:
➤ Malick Thiaw to Newcastle: €32.2m
➤ Theo Hernandez to Al-Hilal: €22.1m
➤ Alex Jimenez to Bournemouth: €15.5m
➤ Noah Okafor to Leeds: €9.7m
➤ Tommaso Pobega to Bologna: €7m
➤ Yacine Adli to Al Shabab: €5.1m
➤ Total: €91.7m
If the estimates are correct, this would be Milan’s record season in terms of capital gains generated. This would break a record that dates back to the 2001-02 season, when the Rossoneri recorded capital gains of €78m, primarily thanks to the sales of Francesco Coco and Umit Davala to Inter.
The top five includes 2009, the year in which Kaká was sold to Real Madrid, but also 2024-25 when Tijjani Reijnders went to Real Madrid. Then there is 2012, marked by the painful departures of Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who left for Paris.
