AC Milan will soon announce a new partner, and it could fuel discussions about naming rights for the new stadium.

Calcio e Finanza declare that Milan ‘have a new sponsor’. The Rossoneri club will soon announce its partnership with Enel, which will become a Premium Club Partner and Official Energy Partner.

It is a new addition for Italy’s leading energy group and one of the world’s largest electricity operators. Milan will join Atalanta, Inter, Juventus, Lazio, Napoli, Roma and Torino, who all already have an existing partnership with Enel.

Among the energy sector’s leading players, Enel thus become the company with the highest number of partnerships in the Italian league (eight). Enel will effectively replace A2A, whose contract expired on June 30th. The partnership will officially debut at San Siro on November 29th, during Milan-Lazio.

Naming rights eyed?

A report from Milano Finanza recently stated that Milan and Inter expect an additional €150m in revenue from their new stadium in the San Siro area, and the naming rights for it play a huge part in this.

A recent article on our Substack took a look at some of the candidates, and Enel were named among them. This is primarily because of the size of the company, but the fact that they now sponsor both Milanese clubs – thus making mutual agreement easier – could well be a significant development.
