Manchester City is poised to face Real Madrid in the Champions League once more, following the last 16 draw held on Friday.

The draw was conducted in Nyon, following the conclusion of the playoffs earlier this week. Pep Guardiola is set to confront his old adversaries again, having crossed paths numerous times over recent seasons. Meanwhile, Chelsea has been dealt a challenging hand against holder Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool will square off against Turkish team Galatasaray, while Arsenal is lined up for a showdown with German team Bayer Leverkusen. Tottenham and Newcastle have drawn Spanish rivals in the last 16. Eddie Howe's players will lock horns with Barcelona, while Tottenham is slated to battle Atletico Madrid.

The first-leg matches for the last 16 are scheduled for March 10 and 11 March, with the second legs pencilled in for the subsequent week.

Clubs now know their last 16 opponents, and all remaining teams in the Champions League have also learned their potential adversaries for the rest of the tournament, as the bracket has been determined.

Arsenal secured its place in the last 16 automatically, having topped the initial league stage with a clean sweep of eight victories.

The Gunners were closely trailed by Arne Slot's Reds, who amassed 18 points and finished third.

Tottenham finished one point and one place further back. Chelsea and Manchester City also secured automatic qualification to the next stage of the competition, having both finished within the top eight.

Newcastle faced a tougher task to confirm its place in the last 16, having only managed to claim a playoff spot.

However, the Magpies progressed with relative ease following a comfortable victory against Qarabag.
