There has been a noticeable difference in the AC Milan squad this season. A happy team gets results, and results make the team happier; it all feeds into itself.
Looking at Milan this season is refreshing. Players fight for each other again, and generally seem happier on the pitch. Of course, sitting near at top of the league has its bonuses, but the atmosphere has to be built internally, too.
It seems this is very much the case, though.
Secret Santa
Today, Peppe Di Stefano has spoken a little bit about the ongoing activities at Milanello as Christmas approaches, as relayed by Radio Rossonera.
“The atmosphere at Milanello has changed so much that even small events demonstrate it. In the last few hours, there was the Secret Santa, the random exchange of gifts following the assignment that had taken place a few days earlier.
“It was not only among the players but also among members of the technical and medical staff, everyone who revolves around the first team. Rabiot gave the gift to Modric, whilst Modric gave to Maignan.

“What I can say is that Allegri received a nice big Pata Negra ham which he decided to leave available to the Milanello kitchen, so I think they’ll have an aperitif every now and then with some good Pata Negra.
“In general, this speaks to the joviality and the moment of joy and serenity and a rediscovered balance at Milanello.”
Of course, hosting a Secret Santa event is not the difference alone. However, small events like that can build into something great. The fact that there is a clear group – and morale is high inside it – brings its own rewards.
Knowing Allegri left his gift to the team is only another thing as well, proving that he is still focusing on them rather than himself. A nice touch which may go unnoticed by many.
