AC Milan may be given a Christmas gift from Chelsea, with Fabrizio Romano providing a very interesting update on the Mike Maignan situation.
2025, at least at this rate, will be the final full year that Mike Maignan plays in a Milan shirt. His contract expires in the summer, and the feeling is that he will leave to join a Premier League club when his deal runs out.
Of course, until a new club is announced, he will remain a Rossonero, and with the Scudetto looking possible, all the focus will be there. Whilst this could extend the nerves, it may be better in a sporting environment.
So there’s a chance…
However, there may actually be nothing to discuss away from his excellent performances at the moment. Chelsea, according to reports, are still considering a move for the goalkeeper, but Romano has suggested otherwise.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, the transfer specialist spoke about the situation, via MilanNews.
“Over the last few weeks, rumours about Mike Maignan have increased. In the last few days, rumours have started circulating abroad again that Chelsea are ready to return to the Frenchman.
“Chelsea had him in their grasp in June, but they were unable to reach an agreement with Milan, who did not want to put more than €15 million on the table. Milan held firm and keeping Maignan was the right decision given his performances.

“Now the rumours about Maignan and Chelsea have returned, but I can tell you that the English club tells me that as of today, the deal is absolutely frozen and at a standstill. Nothing has been confirmed about the rumours coming from England.
“Chelsea are happy with Sanchez, and to date, Maignan’s name has not come up again. The message coming from Chelsea is clear: we are not in for Maignan.”
