Chelsea take on Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend in a hugely significant match for the Blues as Liam Rosenior faces some really tough decisions

Chelsea cannot afford to lose any more ground on Liverpool at the weekend, with Manchester United the visitors to Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

Going into matchday 33 of the Premier League season, the Blues find themselves four points adrift of the Reds as Liam Rosenior looks to guide his team to a top-five finish. Five defeats from six matches - in all competitions - has piled the pressure on Rosenior and Chelsea to try and salvage something from this season.

Michael Carrick's United side, meanwhile, are in third in the Premier League table going into the weekend's fixture. Carrick will be hoping his team can return to winning ways, with the Red Devils picking up just one victory from their last four matches.

Some tough decisions await both managers. With that being said, our Chelsea writers discuss and debate what they would do regarding the Blues line-up on Saturday.

Bobby Vincent

Robert Sanchez in goal, of course, with Malo Gusto continuing on the right-hand side of defence while Reece James remains out with a hamstring injury. Wesley Fofana and Jorrel Hato continue at the centre of defence, with Marc Cucurella on the left side.

I'd personally go with Romeo Lavia instead of Andrey Santos for this one. Rosenior spoke last weekend about finding the right balance in his side and Lavia usually adds that when he plays next to Moises Caicedo.

Cole Palmer should be shifted out to the right-hand side, with Enzo Fernandez making his return to the side following his ban. Estevao Willian, who was below-par in last weekend's defeat to Manchester City, could drop out of the team in place of Fernandez.

I would then go with Alejandro Garnacho on the left wing against his former club, with Pedro Neto on the bench. Garnacho surely has a point to prove against United and may play with the bit between his teeth. Joao Pedro, of course, as the No.9 for the west Londoners.

Bobby's XI: Sanchez; Gusto, Fofana, Hato, Cucurella; Lavia, Caicedo; Palmer, Fernandez, Garnacho; Joao Pedro

With Chelsea four points adrift of Liverpool in fifth place, the Blues must get a result against Manchester United on Saturday. If they don't then qualifying for the Champions League could become near impossible.

On Thursday Liam Rosenior said Trevoh Chalobah was "very close" to making a return to the squad and I would throw him straight in at centre-back. The Englishman partners Fofana in the heart of defence, with Cucurella at left-back and Gusto at right-back.

Caicedo and Fernandez are my picks for the midfield two. It will be interesting to see what sort of reception the Argentina international gets, but he could have a big say on proceedings.

Palmer can slot in the No.10 role and a big performance is needed, with Estevao on the right and Garnacho on the left. It's maybe a tad harsh on Neto but I'm backing Garnacho to score against his former side. Joao Pedro then leads the line and will be hoping to score his 20th goal of the season.

Sam's XI: Sanchez; Gusto, Fofana, Chalobah, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Estevao, Palmer, Garnacho, Joao Pedro
