As the mercato came towards its end, a new name emerged at the back, Manuel Akanji, the Manchester City defender who had been told to find a new club. Milan made an offer, which was accepted. However, the Rossoneri could not agree on personal terms.
On deadline day, he then signed for Inter, stating that it was ‘really easy to choose this club’. Another to add to the list of maybes that have headed for the city rivals. However, a bigger blow could arrive in the next 12 months.
Inter for Vlahovic?
With Massimiliano Allegri’s hiring and the persistent links to Dusan Vlahovic this summer, you would imagine that the Diavolo would be the favourites to sign him in 12 months, if his contract with Juventus is allowed to expire.

This may not be the case, though. As Calciomercato.com write, a ‘crazy’ idea has been started with the Nerazzurri: to bring Vlahovic to Inter. According to Fabiana Delle Valle, Beppe Marotta has explored the idea of signing him as a free agent next summer.
