AC Milan have to make do without their galloping midfielder, Adrien Rabiot, when they play Como next. However, replacing him is not so simple.
Since Rabiot’s arrival, Milan have been a much better team. Perhaps unfortunately, the stats also show this. Before he arrived and while he was injured, the Rossoneri’s points-per-game statistics dropped.
So, Massimiliano Allegri, who clearly has a lot of love for the Frenchman, is being forced to do without the Frenchman.
The replacements
Calciomercato.com reports that there are three possible solutions to replace him. The first would see Samuele Ricci return to the midfield three, and this is seen as the ‘most obvious’ choice, understandably.
However, it is not the only one.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek has recently been leading the line, but with returns, he could drop back into a midfield role, whilst offering a similar offensive threat as Rabiot does when available. Perhaps tactically, this could be the most similar option for the Italian to choose.

Finally, Allegri could allow Jashari to play in a more advanced role alongside Luka Modric, rather than instead of him. Of course, the Swiss is a fantastic passer of the ball, and whilst he may not be as dynamic as Rabiot, he could certainly offer a lot to the team going forward.
It is certainly a big decision to make in a big game.
