Allegri and Leao

Massimiliano Allegri went back to AC Milan earlier this summer, and his first move was to strengthen Rafael Leao. After all, it is to everyone’s benefit.

Whenever Allegri has been linked to Milan, something about Leao has normally followed. Not negative, far from it. The Italian has a deep admiration for the Portuguese, and this is probably a big reason for his appointment.

After all, everyone wants the best of Leao, if Allegri can achieve that, he makes everyone happier.

He has spoken extensively about the need for the star in his team, and his press conference featured a lot about the winger.

Where does your belief in Leao come from?

“I believe in him, I’m convinced. He’s coming of age. Usually a player’s most important years are between 26 and 30. I think he’s more responsible, I met him this morning and spoke to him. I think there are all the conditions to do well.”

Leao’s centrality

Calciomercato.com build from those words, today, and write how Allegri ‘locked down’ the winger immediately after returning. He wants Milan to be determined and fun. Leao can provide both, but the report suggests that he can sometimes lack the former. After all, the latter is not doubted, it can be seen throughout games with Leao’s smile.

Allegri Leao

From Allegri, the winger has reportedly receieved reassurances about his future, and how he can improve him further, offering him vice-captaincy as a bridge towards that too.

Bayern Munich in recent weeks have slowly moved away from the Portuguese, with the Rossoneri holding firm on their asking price. After all, Allegri’s desire is clear: he wants a Leao-centred Milan and the foundations are already there.
