CM: Fullkrug to Milan in 24 hours – what filters as Rossoneri close to first winter signing

Niclas Fullkrug is one step away from becoming an AC Milan player in the January mercato. In fact, he could be signed in the next 24 hours.

It is clear that Milan need a striker this January, and Fullkrug’s name is the most heavily linked at this moment. However, it is probably a case of the finances lining up well, rather than him being the dream target.

Of course, the German ticks several boxes, and he would be a more physical option for Massimiliano Allegri. However, that does not mean that all of the Rossoneri’s problems would be fixed. It is a short-term bridge, it seems, and nothing more.

In the next 24 hours, as Calciomercato.com reports, the deal could be done, thanks to the insertion of a clause demanded by West Ham. It means that the Diavolo will have a buy option available to them if they wish to use it.

They will pay €1.5 million for the striker – which is his salary – until the end of the year, and then in the summer, if they wish, they can pay a fee of €12-13m to buy the German. Whether it will be considered by the club then is another thing entirely.

However, the option will be there if he impresses in the next few months.
