The Milan Futuro project is all about developing players for the future, and the one turning heads at the moment is Lorenzo Ossola.
As Calciomercato.com point out, 13 points separate Milan Futuro from the team that are top of their group in Serie D. The aim is to return to the third tier as soon as possible, but the real mission is to lay the foundations for developing the youth academy.
The Rossoneri don’t want to stop at just Davide Bartesaghi and Francesco Camarda, and have several talents who could embark on a journey to the first team. Ossola can certainly be considered one of the brightest and most decisive.
The next in line?
Ossola’s time at Milan has now spanned 12 years, and because of this he has become a silent leader despite his many team-mates and colleagues that are perhaps a bit more obviously vocal out on the field.
He lets the pitch do the talking, and his right foot knows how to. He never makes predictable plays, while the Italian thrives on pressure from the opposition to pass to his team-mate and attack the space in behind.
With Giovanni Renna in the Primavera, all the moves stem from Ossola’s ideas and his creativity. In 16 matches he has nine goal contributions (four goals, five assists). He floats between the lines, creates spaces for his team-mates to run into, and finishes with power and precision.

In the eyes of Milan, Lorenzo has the potential and room for growth to develop over a two-year period, with a potential promotion to the first team after that. For this reason, he has just joined the Milan Futuro group coached by Oddo.
On October 17, Ossola put pen to paper on a contract extension with Milan. After over a decade with the Rossoneri, this was a clear and significant sign of confidence. In 12 appearances for Milan Futuro in Serie D, he has already scored an impressive three goals.
The plan calls for building next season’s plans around the talented forward, who can also play as a playmaker. Hopefully, the Futuro can even reach Serie C thanks to his output, or potentially via a repechage.
