Leon Goretzka is heading for the exit door at Bayern Munich, and AC Milan are still in the running to land him.
Calciomercato.com begin an update with the words of Christoph Freund, the director of Bayern Munich. During a press conference held together with coach Vincent Kompany, he confirmed that Goretzka will bid farewell to the German club.
“Leon feels very comfortable at this club and in this team. He has decided to stay here. He plays really well, he’s at the highest level, so it’s no surprise that there have been requests, even concrete ones,” he said.
“He’s an important part of the team, he feels we’re on the right track, that many things are possible, and he wants to stay. That’s an important factor. Due to the dynamics of the last few weeks, we’ve intensified discussions and spoken openly about his future in the summer.
“In the summer, his adventure at Bayern Munich will be over. It will have been eight years here, extremely positive, extremely strong, both from a human and footballing point of view. But first he’ll fight with us to ensure we have some good weeks left.”

Potential landing spots
Where could Goretzka end up? Talks have taken place between Milan and the player’s agency to understand the feasibility of a free transfer in June.
Further contacts with the Roof agency have confirmed Milan sporting director Igli Tare’s strong interest in the former Schalke man. It is nothing concrete or advanced at the moment, but the Rossoneri do not consider his salary demands to be too high.
There’s also interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Atlético Madrid though. Los Colchoneros want to push their midfield to the next level with a top-tier signing, but any discussions will be postponed until June, despite talk that the LaLiga side want him now.
The market is moving around Goretzka: the first information has been gathered and the issue of his future will be resolved in the coming months.
