AC Milan director Igli Tare is continuing to work on signing a striker, and there was a meeting involving Rasmus Hojlund on Tuesday.
As Calciomercato.com report, Massimiliano Allegri’s side are desperately in need of another centre-forward given that both Luka Jovic and Tammy Abraham left at the end of last season, while Francesco Camarda was loaned out.
Dusan Vlahovic’s candidacy seems to be fading, with Hojlund currently the hottest prospect. The former Atalanta player has a more affordable salary at €4m net per year, compared to the €12m earned by the Serbian at Juventus.
The next steps
It’s worth remembering that Milan have already had discussions with the Red Devils and have even reached a draft agreement on the deal’s formula and figures. It’s would be a loan deal worth €6m, with an option to buy set at around €40-45m.
However, the player’s approval is still missing, much to the annoyance of Arrigo Sacchi. A meeting took place today between Hojlund and United’s management, in which the Red Devils reiterated their stance that he should find a new club.
Rasmus, however, isn’t yet 100% convinced about leaving, especially since he’s a huge Manchester United fan . The situation needs to be monitored and Milan could turn to other targets if the green light doesn’t come, such as Vlahovic or PSG’s Goncalo Ramos.
