CM: Jashari still a mystery for Milan as Belgian Player of the Year struggles

Ardon Jashari’s arrival was the move of the AC Milan summer mercato, but so far, he is not showing that same level.

The move for Jashari took up most of the summer. On several occasions, it seemed that Milan were done with negotiations, but then things changed and they returned to the table. However, he has struggled to perform so far.

Jashari: The mystery

It’s not easy being Jashari, as Calciomercato.com writes today, given he has struggled since making the switch from Belgium to Italy. He was injured before the summer window closed, and now he is still trying to return to his previous levels.

The fact that he sits behind one of the best midfielders of all time in the squad also does not help, as chances are limited. As a result, finding rhythm is a struggle, and against Fiorentina it showed a little bit.

He has made six appearances so far for his new club, without really convincing, but Igli Tare remains a big fan. Before this weekend’s game, he stated that he would be a big player in the future, so he cannot be written off yet.

Being the €40 million man for a club who have not spent heavily in recent years bears a weight, too. So, whilst it would be easy to say he has failed so far, we also must consider the flip side.

The injury, Luka Modric’s engine and his price certainly have had an impact. Without the injury and the Croatian, he would’ve probably been much more present. He has not let it get him down, though, instead it is a chance to learn.

He was also named the Belgian Player of the Year this week, which could also be the boost that he needs to bring his confidence back. So, he is far from a write off.
