CM: Kings of the head-to-head – Milan’s ‘huge difference’ from 2024/25 season

Last season, it was widely discussed how poorly AC Milan performed in big games. It remains the case this season, for all the right reasons.

Milan are into something good. It does not take a head-to-head record to see that much. Just looking at their record against the ‘big teams’ says enough. As Calciomercato.com writes, they have gotten 20 points from eight games.

They would sit in eighth place from these games alone; it is a frankly astonishing position to be in.

Head-to-head kings

Unbeaten, with six wins so far, against other top teams, it could already have a big impact on things towards the end of the season. Especially considering they have the best points average compared to the others, too.

They have played everyone in the same bracket as them so far (from last season at least), and results speak for themselves, especially when comparing them to last season’s attempts, which were widely focused on.

Results elsewhere this weekend mean that they have returned to the top of the division, if only on goal difference. However, they would also be atop of the pile thanks to the head-to-head rankings. In fact, Juventus or Atalanta are the only teams that could better them in this position.

They sit in seventh and 11th, respectively. Talk of having an advantage.
