CM: Milan ask for details on Goretzka with Allegri pushing for experience – the situation

A new target has emerged for AC Milan as they look to strengthen the midfield: Leon Goretzka of Bayern Munich.

According to Calciomercato.com, the sporting director Igli Tare and CEO Giorgio Furlani are scouring the market for opportunities, especially players whose contracts expire in June and who could therefore arrive without a transfer fee.

Massimiliano Allegri continues to push the club for highly experienced signings to raise the level of the squad, especially in midfield. It will be necessary to determine over the course of next few months whether Luka Modric can be retained, and if not then a replacement would be needed.

In this regard, Leon Goretzka has emerged as a target, a player that is out of contract with Bayern Munich at the end of the season. He turns 31 in February, and there’s currently no news of a possible extension with the Bavarian side, where he’s made 24 appearances and scored one goal this season.

Goretzka is therefore a potential free transfer and Milan have officially requested information, above all from the player’s entourage. The management want to understand if there is interest in a transfer to Italy and, above all, what his salary demands would be.

The German international is still a key player for Bayern Munich, although his role – especially in the Champions League – has been reduced to that of a mere reserve. It’s unlikely Bayern will part ways without compensation in January, while the deal is certainly more feasible in June.
