CM: Milan have several ‘last minute’ names for the defence – the current options

1 day ago 32

After conceding two poor goals this weekend, AC Milan are looking for some emergency defensive cover in the mercato.

This weekend’s game proved that despite a summer of sales and spending, Milan are no different to the team from last season. The same silly errors were pounced on, and the Rossoneri, despite their new coach, did not appear to have a different face.

As a result, a mercato summit took place at Casa Milan yesterday, with Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri present to discuss the needed areas of recruitment. In that meeting, the Italian voiced a request for a striker (or two) and another defender.

A few options

A defender, despite several targets going elsewhere, is possible, and Calciomercato.com write that there are a few last-minute options available.

Right now, the list consists of a few names: Merih Demiral, who is liked thanks to his experience and ability to come into the team straight away and Caleb Okoli, who is on the other end of the spectrum experience-wise.

Pietro Comuzzo is no longer an option, so the team will have to get searching, and this could explain Geoffrey Moncada’s trip to Seville.

Of course, Koni De Winter also hopes to make an impact on the back-line, but it is clear that another may need to arrive for security.
