With the spending in the January mercato limited, AC Milan are already planning for the summer, where they will hopefully benefit from a Champions League place.
It was made clear in the early stages of December that Milan would not have money to spend this month. Of course, there may be the odd pennies available for an opportunity too good to refuse. However, there will be no massive spending.
The reason goes back to last season, where the Rossoneri spent big, and it hindered them in the process. So, they will instead have to wait for a few months before they can start making big moves.
Of course, then they will also be supported, hopefully, by the purse of a Champions League place, which also affects their ability to spend now.
Names in mind
So, Calciomercato.com writes that planning is already underway for the summer, with a few options already being considered.
It starts with two out-of-contract names, the first being Leon Goretzka, who has been a name of interest for some time. Then, the big name of focus is Dusan Vlahovic, who may finally make his way to Milano, following his former coach.
At least for now, the final signing in mind is Mario Gila, who has become increasingly discussed in recent days, with a €20m move in mind.
