CM: Milan intensify discussions with France after surprise Rabiot call-up – the situation

1 hour ago 2

Adrien Rabiot has been named in the preliminary France squad for their upcoming internationals, despite his absence since the last break.

As Calciomercato.com recall, Rabiot played his last competitive match for Milan on October 5th before the injury he suffered while playing for France. The soleus muscle tear sidelined the former Marseille man for a month, causing him to miss the matches against Fiorentina, Pisa, Atalanta and Roma.

This significant absence was not ideal for Massimiliano Allegri and the Rossoneri, at a crucial stage of the season in which they faced a tough run of games. Now, the light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer, but the club hoped to have him remain in Italy over the break to get back to 100%.

Deschamps’ call

The latest news is Rabiot’s preliminary call-up to the French national team. Coach Didier Deschamps has summoned the ex-PSG man for the upcoming matches against Ukraine and Azerbaijan, which has caused some surprise.

In the last few hours, discussions have intensified between the Milan management and the French Football Federation to find a sensible solution, considering that Rabiot is still injured and the Rossoneri have had to do without him for the past month.

Preparations for Saturday night’s clash at the Stadio Tardini against Parma are continuing at Milanello. A double session is taking place today (Wednesday), during which Christian Pulisic should return to full training.

It’s a different story for Rabiot, who will miss Saturday’s match. He hopes to then be available to Allegri for the derby after the break, but it remains to be seen what will happen with his national team duties.
