Renewals are the big topic at AC Milan currently, and they could be ramped up even further with Rafael Leao moving into the spotlight.
His minutes have been limited this season, but Leao is, perhaps, the best version of himself. In a central role, the downsides of his game are given less light. However, the brighter parts are being given the space to shine.
Of course, his transformation is not complete, but there is undeniably something there. So, Milan want to offer him a statement of praise and belief by opening talks about a renewal.
Leao renewal in the works
The first suggestions of a new deal arrived before the New Year, but it now seems that movement is being made. This morning, Calciomercato.com reports that ‘initial contacts’ have begun with his entourage regarding a renewal.
It is believed that the Portuguese wants to strengthen the links between him and the club, even if his current deal does not expire until the summer of 2028.

Whilst the terms of his deal may be discussed, the biggest matter would be to extend his expiry date, perhaps until the end of the 2029/30 season or the one after. After all, Leao has ‘always given priority’ to the Rossoneri, and he intends to keep it this way, as do Milan.
