Following another clean sheet, reports have emerged that AC Milan are ready to start negotiating with Fikayo Tomori over a renewal.

There has been a lot said about the strength of the current Milan team, so it is important to get them locked down to new deals if they are at risk of leaving. In the past 18 months, there have been a few suggestions about Tomori’s future, so he is one to look at.

The Englishman has had several chances to leave the Rossoneri, but this summer, he was determined to start again. What a decision that was, too. Under Massimiliano Allegri, the defence looks fantastic, and there is balance again.

Tomori’s resurgence

One of the leaders of this is Tomori, whom the Italian head coach took an instant liking to, seeing him as a new Andrea Barzagli-type player. With this, as Calciomercato.com states, he has been ‘rediscovered’ and is enjoying a fine spell.

In fact, the Englishman is looking like the same defender who was so instrumental in the Scudetto season under Stefano Pioli. With this, reports in recent days state that the club are ready to discuss a renewal, and it is understandable why.

After all, it boils down to the Diavolo going as far as Tomori takes them. Right now, he is taking them back to the top.
