The eyes of AC Milan’s scouts are constantly scanning Europe for the best young talent, and Konstantinos Karetsas has caught their eye.

Under RedBird Capital and prior to them under Elliott Management, Milan have had a youth-led recruitment policy. However, in the summer the squad took on a more experienced feel with the signings of players like Luka Modric and Adrien Rabiot, who are 40 and 30 respectively.

Towards the end of the window we saw a bit of a return to type with the acquisition of a player like David Odogu, who arrived for €7m plus bonuses from Wolfsburg in the summer at the age of 18, showing the desire to go for talent is still there.

According to Calciomercato.com, there is a new name that Milan are ‘tracking’: Konstantinos Karetsas. Not only that, but he comes from a familiar hunting ground: the Juliper Pro League in Belgium, where Charles De Ketelaere and Ardon Jashari arrived from.

The 18-year-old scored in Genk’s 2-1 Europa League victory against Basel last Thursday and Milan had scouts keeping an eye on his performances.

This year, Karetsas became Greece’s youngest goalscorer in competitive matches, scoring against Scotland in the Nations League play-offs.

The teenager has been used as an attacking midfielder mostly this season but also as a winger. He has one goal and nine assists in 22 competitive games for Genk, his hometown club.

He is also attracting interest from Bologna, Udinese, Napoli, Borussia Dortmund, Monaco, Manchester United and Newcastle, as per the report.
