CM: Milan want to complete key department for Allegri – Liverpool man a target

AC Milan still want to sign a central defender despite David Odogu’s late arrival, with some options identified ahead of January.

As Calciomercato.com report, the fact that Milan are top after five games has brought a surge of enthusiasm to the club. Massimiliano Allegri, an experienced and skilled strategist, seems to have fixed a leaky defence with just three goals conceded in seven competitive games.

The league is a marathon of course, and to reach the finish line before the others, you need champions like Luka Modric and Adrien Rabiot, but also a certain level of depth in the squad. So, in the winter window, another defender could arrive.

Gomez still on the radar

Having played just 29 minutes in the Premier League and 90 in the EFL Cup, Joe Gomez isn’t a central part of Arne Slot’s plans at Liverpool. The feeling is that Milan have a strong chance of making him a January signing, having come close to doing in the summer.

The Englishman is still a target for Igli Tare, who is fully committed to strengthening the defence, especially because the signing of Odogu represents an investment for the future rather than for right now.

Eyes are also on Germany and France for the potential January signing, with the management convinced by the idea of giving Allegri a fifth central defender with reliability and ideally experience.
