CM: Pulisic suffers low-grade tear – the games he is expected to miss

AC Milan received multiple bits of bad news during the international break, but the Christian Pulisic blow is the biggest.

As Calciomercato.com report, Alexis Saelemaekers, Pervis Estupinan and Adrien Rabiot were among the players to return from national team duty with physical problems. However, the absentee to be circled in red is Pulisic, and an MRI scan revealed a low-grade tear in his right hamstring.

How long out?

Given that the injury is low-grade, we are not talking about the worst case scenario which is a tear so severe that it can require surgery. He will be checked again in ten days and we are talking about a period on the sidelines of around three weeks, which will see him miss at least the next three games.

He will obviously be unavailable for the next match against Fiorentina, but will also miss Milan-Pisa on October 24 and also the game on October 28 against Atalanta in Bergamo. He could return for the match against Roma, on November 2, or perhaps the one after that against Parma.

Massimiliano Allegri will now have to decide who will replace Pulisic, starting with Sunday’s home match against Fiorentina. Currently, the contenders to play alongside Santiago Gimenez are Rafael Leao and new signing Christopher Nkunku.
