In the summer, Massimiliano Allegri pressed for Adrien Rabiot’s arrival. Regardless of the fact that they are second, AC Milan can thank their new manager for this alone.
Throughout the mercato six months ago, Allegri was regularly asked about a few players and Rabiot was one of them. One of his favourites for Juventus and with the midfield needing work, the Frenchman was a key topic.
The Italian always rejected the idea, staying respectful to his situation. However, behind the curtain, he had been in contact with his former midfielder, as Rabiot revealed in his first press conference. Six months on, the Rossoneri can only be grateful for that.
Signing to define a season
Last night, he scored a brace and won the penalty to get his side level. The type of performance that can define a season, and it also defines the Frenchman perfectly, too.

Calciomercato.com’s piece about him is titled ‘Leadership, consistency and goals’, with them also stating that he has transformed the club into Scudetto contenders, and it would be hard to disagree with that statement.
He has changed the mentality of the team, whilst also providing his own boost. A signing that has defined a season, and he will not allow his team to think that they are out of the Scudetto battle yet.
