CM: Signal given as Milan request €40m to begin Fofana discussions with Galatasaray

AC Milan are not looking to sell Youssouf Fofana this month, and their reply to Galatasaray’s interest is a clear statement of this. 

It emerged yesterday that Galatasaray were sending representatives to Italy to discuss moves for a few players, and it seemed that Fofana was one of the players that the club had in mind. However, it was quickly shut down, with the Frenchman reportedly uninterested in an exit.

In fact, with the interest in him stretching back to the summer, it was probably just an extension of that rejection. Nevertheless, the Rossoneri have now also rejected the idea effectively, even if they’ve not directly said no.

Fofana stays

Calciomercato.com writes that the club have replied with an official valuation of €40 million. This sticks to the trend of every player being sellable for the right price. Of course, he arrived for €20m last summer, so this would be a significant profit.

The reasoning for these demands are simple. In the view of the management and, more importantly, Massimiliano Allegri, Fofana is deemed central to the project. So, it would take a substantial fee for him to be sold.

Everyone is convinced that he can do better in the second part of this season, and the feeling is that he will.
