CM: Zirkzee could leave Man Utd in January – Milan named among potential landing spots

Joshua Zirkzee could leave Manchester United in the coming months, and AC Milan have been named as a potential landing spot.

As Calciomercato.com report, Rasmus Hojlund’s departure hasn’t changed Zirkzee’s situation, as he remains on the sidelines at United and is struggling for minutes. As a consequence of this, he could depart as early as the January window, despite the fact he cost the Premier League side over €40m.

The thinking was that Hojlund’s Napoli move would see Ruben Amorim use him more. In fact, Zirkzee played 21 consecutive games in the Premier League, only to then stop due to a hamstring injury. Then, the Portuguese coach simply preferred other options.

Where could Zirzkee go?

There’s no shortage of admirers in the Italian top flight, but many things have changed since last summer. Napoli for example got Hojlund and Lorenzo Lucca, and are hoping to recover Lukaku in the coming months.

Juventus haven’t sold Dusan Vlahovic, and with Jonathan David and Lois Openda also in the squad, they don’t need a striker. Inter too are well covered with Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram, Ange-Yoan Bonny and Pio Esposito.

Milan are a slightly different story, though everything here revolves around Santiago Gimenez. After a summer full of uncertainty, the Mexican is improving and gaining trust with Massimiliano Allegri, so further evaluations will only be made in the coming months.

Como have been mentioned, but Zirkzee could also stay in England: David Moyes’ Everton and Nuno Espirito Santo’s West Ham are two possibilities for the former Bologna man.
