Cohen: Milan following Strasbourg striker Panichelli with ‘great interest’ – the situation

1 day ago 32

AC Milan have been keeping a close eye on the Strasbourg striker Joaquin Panichelli, following what has been a very successful start to life in Ligue 1.

Milan were linked with multiple strikers over the summer, but in the end, they went with Christopher Nkunku while opting not to sell Santiago Gimenez. Right now, as such, the Rossoneri have a complete attacking department but that could change down the line.

Indeed, Gimenez is yet to score his first goal in the league and Rafael Leao hasn’t found form in what is meant to be a make-or-break season. It’s only natural that Milan are assessing their options for the future, and that some potential signings are on the radar.

New name on the radar

According to Luca Cohen, Milan have been keeping a close eye on Joaquin Panichelli ‘in recent times’, after a very strong start to the season. The 23-year-old arrived at Strasbourg in the summer and has scored 7 goals in the first 8 games.

While just one of many targets for now, the Rossoneri are following him with ‘great interest’, as the journalist concludes. Again, you could argue the attacking department is complete now but next summer, the situation could be different.

It should be noted that Strasbourg paid around €16-17m for the Argentine striker in the summer, and considering the strong start, his price tag is probably around €25-30m now.
