Lorenzo Colombo has offered some advice to Francesco Camarda, with both strikers having left AC Milan on loan this summer.
There is a lot that unites Colombo and Camarda, given that they both rose through the youth ranks at their boyhood club, playing the centre-forward position and also being highly rated within the Italian youth national teams.
However, their paths at present seem very different. The former has headed to Genoa on loan and his future could be there permanently, given that there is an obligation to buy. The latter meanwhile is a few years younger, and went on a loan to Lecce with an option to buy (plus buy-back).
‘I respect him’
Colombo gave an interview to Cronache di Spogliatoio in which he also spoke about Camarda and his first Milan goal, with his comments coming via MilanPress.

“I respect him for the important decision to go to Lecce. I also made it [Colombo had a loan spell at Lecce] to develop, but it’s not a given at that age,” he said.
“My advice? To believe in himself deeply; no one will give him anything, but he has the ability to do anything. Not everyone gets to play for AC Milan; making the decision to leave to become a key player is not easy.
“Best career goal? My first goal at San Siro, even though it was behind closed doors, I didn’t fully enjoy it. Then my first goal in Serie A, in Naples against Lecce, with a shot from outside the box. But the most powerful emotion of my life was the penalty against Monza that saved us from relegation.”
