Como president states Morata took significant wage drop to leave Milan: “Just to come”

Alvaro Morata was at the heart of one of the more interesting transfers this summer. After only 12 months, he left AC Milan for the second time.

When Milan signed Morata last summer, there was a lot of hope that he could be a big player for the Rossoneri. Off the back of a European Championship win with Spain, there was confidence that he could fill an Olivier Giroud-sized gap.

Instead, he never took off at San Siro, and within six months he was loaned to Galatasaray. Though, just like with the Diavolo, he did not stay for long. In fact, he began missing training with the Turkish giants refusing to part with him easily.

Eventually a deal was finalised, though, and the Spaniard headed back to Italy where Como were waiting.
