AC Milan might make one final signing to complete the defensive department, and it could well be someone that Massimiliano Allegri knows well.
The regular use of a three-man defence to this point by Allegri means that Fikayo Tomori, Matteo Gabbia, Strahinja Pavlovic and Koni De Winter might not be enough. Zachary Athekame and Davide Bartesaghi are seen more as full-backs, so a final addition might arrive.
Demiral the latest idea
According to this morning’s edition of Corriere della Sera (via TuttoJuve), there is a chance that Merih Demiral leaves Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli before the window closes, the team that have been linked with a late move for Youssouf Fofana.
Not only that, but a return to Serie A could be on the cards for the former Sassuolo and Atalanta man. Milan consider him a good option to shore up their defence as per the paper, and could sign in the final days of the transfer window at a reasonable price.
This is because the Turkey international has less than 12 months on his contract, and thus he might be allowed to leave the Middle East if he were to express a desire to move back to Serie A.
