CorSera: Allegri wants a target man in January – Tare eyeing option from within Serie A

Massimiliano Allegri has asked for a target man in the January window, and a report has claimed that Igli Tare has picked out the main name.

Monica Colombo’s article in this morning’s edition of Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) picks out at least one player who could be a good fit for each team to boost their Scudetto hopes in the second half of the season.

Milan were also mentioned, and she writes that the priority for the management should be to sign a centre-forward, although this is contingent on Santiago Gimenez’s possible departure this winter which his agent denied.

Pellegrino: the right fit?

Massimiliano Allegri – after having encountered the difficulties of Gimenez and Christopher Nkunku and having relaunched Rafael Leao in a new role – is waiting for a true centre-forward.

The coach wants a typical No.9 who can fill the penalty area, jostle with opponents and be a target man. The problem is that any investment will be possible only after selling a member of the squad, which could possibly be El Bebote’s exit to the Premier League.

The name that piques Igli Tare’s imagination is Mateo Pellegrino of Parma. Milan got a close-up look at him in the 2-2 draw last month, and he was a real handful for the three centre-backs. He has seven goals in 16 games across all competitions for Parma this season.

After the game at the Tardini, the 24-year-old was asked about the Milan links and he replied as follows: “Sure, it’s nice to hear about a team like Milan, but my focus is on Parma. I give everything for this shirt and try to do my best.”
