It would be tough to suggest that Inter and Milan do not have two of the best midfields in Italy. Perhaps, they even compete for the best, and on Sunday, one may prove that they are the better unit than the other.

There is quality in both, and it seems that Adrien Rabiot will be Massimiliano Allegri’s wildcard to win the game. However, the game may not be decided by the Frenchman. Instead, it could come to those sitting deeper.
As Corriere della Sera, via MilanNews, writes, the game could instead be won by Hakan Calhanoglu or Luka Modric. It will be a derby of the brains; the two dominate their teams’ midfields, and they will duel again this weekend.
Both are capable of orchestrating the play, and Allegri and Christian Chivu will hope that their chess match goes in their favour. A large part of the game, then, will be stopping the other mastermind. Though this is a task easier said than done.
Both have a history with the other club, which only further adds to the meaning behind the battle.
