CorSera: Lecce ‘convinced’ surgery is unneeded for Camarda as talks continue

Francesco Camarda seems likely to return to AC Milan this month, but it may not be as obvious as expected, given the rebuttal from Lecce.

Things are rather unclear where Camarda is involved. Ultimately, he has suffered a shoulder injury, and it seems that the best case for recovery would see him have surgery to fix the problem. However, discussions are now debating that.

Lecce unconvinced

On Sunday, before Lecce’s game against Milan, Lecce president Saverio Sticchi Damiani spoke to DAZN, as MilanNews relays, stating that surgery was unnecessary.

“There’s no particular news for us. He had this problem, he was treated by our doctors, and he was examined by a specialist. There’s unanimous agreement that he can return with 20 days of rest, but obviously he’ll have to undergo conservative therapy. He’ll be able to help us until the end of the season. Nothing has changed for us, there’s no particular news for us.”

Now, that case is being fought for more heavily, with Corriere della Sera, via the same MilanNews report, stating that the Giallorossi are ‘convinced’ that conservative therapy will be enough for him to recover.

As a result this would mean that he would remain at the club, rather than returning to the Rossoneri. With this, they would also be able to take advantage of the summer clause, which was initially agreed when Camarda moved.

For the youngster, though, it is not as simple. In fact, he is considering returning home, as well as having the operation.
