CorSera: Marusic to free up the budget – why Tare is pushing to re-unite with defender

AC Milan certainly need some defensive reinforcement, and Adam Marusic could be a handy option, indeed. In fact, the deal makes a lot of sense.

It is nothing new for managers or sporting directors to look at players they already know. Massimiliano Allegri has done so already – look at Adrien Rabiot and Koni De Winter – and is continuing to do so.

However, he is not the only one. Igi Tare is also keeping a keen eye on his former players, which explains the links to Mario Gila, who could solve a lot of problems for Milan in the summer, perhaps.

Gila is not the only one, though. In fact, as Corriere della Sera writes, the club are also looking at signing Marusic. LazioNews24 relays the information, stating that Tare has his eyes on a reunion, given he knows the defender well.

A versatile defender, the experienced Montenegrin could solve a few problems at the back for the Diavolo. With him being a free agent in the summer, too, he should not cost too much.

This in itself is a draw, given that he is a low-cost option; he could allow Milan to focus the budget elsewhere. A signing with multiple benefits.
