AC Milan were held to a 0-0 draw by Juventus on Sunday night, and they were let down by arguably their two best forwards.
As Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) report, the team that leaves the Allianz Stadium with regrets is undoubtedly Massimiliano Allegri’s side, who once again demonstrated their great defensive solidity, but this time made too many mistakes up front.
A penalty was not converted by Christian Pulisic and two golden chances were missed by Rafael Leao, who came on in the second half. The Rossoneri thus surrender the top spot in the table, where Roma and Napoli remain, having beaten Fiorentina and Genoa respectively yesterday.
A night of regrets
While it’s true that we’re still at the start of the campaign and the season is still very long, at the end of the match there was a lot of regret in the Milan dressing room because they were the only team that came close to winning and more deserved the three points.

Penalties are becoming a problem for the Rossoneri, and the numbers speak for themselves: since the start of 2024, the Rossoneri have missed seven of their 13 penalties in Serie A, which is a 54% miss rate (the worst percentage in Europe).
Yet the Milan fans also remember the two big opportunities Leao missed, still far from his best form. As against Napoli, the Portuguese came on in the second half yesterday in place of Santiago Gimenez and showed he still has some work to do to get back to 100%.
He found himself in a good position twice, from a Pulisic cross and a Luka Modric through ball, but he wasn’t as sharp and clinical in front of goal as he should be. It is a real shame for Milan, who leave Turin with some regrets.
