CorSera: Milan ‘break the Torino taboo’ thanks to ‘superhero’ Pulisic

AC Milan produced a comeback from two goals down to beat Torino and move back top of the Serie A table on Monday night. 

As Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) recall, Christian Pulisic remained a doubt until shortly before kick-off in last night’s game. In the end, he not only ended up on the bench, but also came on in the second half and decided the match with a brace in 10 minutes.

If it wasn’t clear to anyone yet, the American forward – who started suffering from a fever on Saturday night – proved once again that he is the driving force behind Massimiliano Allegri’s Milan.

Puli to the rescue

Like a true ‘superhero’, Captain America was stronger than even the fever that threatened to keep him out. Thanks to this comeback victory, Milan return to the top of the Serie A table, level on points with Napoli and one point ahead of Inter. They are also now six points clear of fifth place.

Besides Pulisic, Milan also have Adrien Rabiot to thank, who put in a superb midfield performance and scored one of the season’s finest goals. Allegri – who was in the stands last night and replaced on the bench by his assistant Marco Landucci – asked him for a goal, and he answered.

The Rossoneri ‘broke the Torino taboo’, having lost their last three matches away in the league against the Granata. However, there is also some bad news for the Diavolo, namely the injury for Rafael Leao, forced to leave the field during the first half with a muscle problem.

The grimace on his face as he left the pitch and the post-match images of him limping from the stadium unfortunately do not bode well. Today the Portuguese will undergo a scan, but his presence in the Supercoppa Italiana is seriously in doubt.
