CorSera: ‘Milan have chosen’ – Furlani gives Tare green light to begin Vlahovic talks

AC Milan’s hunt for a new centre-forward continues, but there is one profile who still stands out above the rest at present.

Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) report this morning that Santiago Gimenez isn’t considered the quintessential Massimiliano Allegri striker, which is why Milan is reportedly looking for a new signing in this transfer window.

Victor Boniface, Patrick Schick, Tolu Arokodare, and Nicolas Jackson are just some of the names linked to the Rossoneri. Yet, the management have already identified the right player.

Green light for Vlahovic

After weeks of hesitation, Giorgio Furlani has given Igli Tare the go-ahead to negotiate with Vlahovic, who is an issue that Juventus need to resolve given his deal expires in less than 12 months.

As is well known, the Serbian – coming off a more than difficult season with Juve – has already rejected several high-profile offers from Turkey, while still aiming to continue earning €12m net per season from his next club.

If nobody show up who can pay him his current salary, then other options must be explored and this is where Milan enter the frame. The CEO Furlani, after an initial period of resistance, gave Tare permission to negotiate with the striker.

However, he has placed a cap of €10m on the transfer fee. Not only that, the player’s salary would have to undergo a significant cut, reducing it to half if not less, therefore €6m/yr or lower.
