Massimiliano Allegri will earn a salary higher than his predecessors at AC Milan, but it is not the highest in Serie A.
After Paulo Fonseca and Sergio Conceicao each failed to achieve the desire results, Milan decided to go for a safer pair of hands (on paper) in Allegri, someone who has a history of winning both with the Rossoneri and at Juventus.
Corriere della Sera (via PianetaMilan) write that in order to convince Allegri to return to Milan after 11 years, the club put on the table a contract of €5m net per season, a figure that immediately projects him towards the top of the ranking of the highest paid coaches in Serie A.
The return of Allegri, whose previous experience with the Rossoneri ended with his dismissal in January 2014, places him in second place in the ranking drawn up by the paper.
He is not alone, however: the silver medal on the podium is shared with Gian Piero Gasperini, the new coach of Roma, who also earns €5m per year.
- Conte (€6m per year)
- Allegri and Gasperini (€5m per year)
- Pioli, Italiano and Tudor (€3m per year)
- Chivu (€2.5m per year)
- Juric (€2m per year)
