AC Milan need to continue their winning ways against Como or they risk Inter running away with the title, and Rafael Leao will be key again.
As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanPress) report this morning, Milan are chasing their city rivals against with the derby in early March on the horizon. They will face a dangerous Como side tonight, and they could do so with their most unpredictable player playing from the start.
Allegri relies on Leao
Indeed, Massimiliano Allegri is leaning towards starting Rafael Leao against Cesc Fabregas’ men, having opted to line up Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christopher Nkunku as the attacking pairing from minute one in each of the last two league games.
A win is the only option. Inter are currently eight points ahead in the standings, but the Rossoneri have a game in hand, which is this evening. A win – which is far from a given – would reduce the gap to five points, reopening interesting scenarios in the race for the top spot.

Leao was tested among the starters yesterday and remains the favourite to get a starting spot, although the battle with Nkunku is still going. Allegri wants the best possible Milan to keep their rivals at bay: and when the lights need to be turned on, the Portuguese remains the main switch.
If he starts or comes off the bench, Leao will be looking for a goal that has been missing for a month and a half. The forward has not scored since January 8th when he netted in the 1-1 home draw against Genoa with a late header.
