Among the many sub-plots to AC Milan’s summer transfer window there is the pursuit of a striker, and Victor Boniface has given positive signs.

According to Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), Milan are ready to invest heavily in their attack this summer. Massimiliano Allegri has asked for a centre-forward with very specific characteristics: a finisher, capable of scoring goals but also capable of tactical work similar to that of Olivier Giroud.

The goal is to sign a different profile to Santiago Gimenez, offering more solutions making the striker role more complete. Among the first names being considered is Lorenzo Lucca, though Igli Tare and Giorgio Furlani accelerated on other fronts after learning he was/is close to Napoli.

Boniface gives green light

One of the most interesting names is Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen. The Nigerian has expressed openness to joining Milan, but the real obstacle remains the German club, who want between €40-45m to sell.

The 24-year-old had a season marred by adductor injuries that have affected his performance and consistency. Despite this, he scored 11 goals in the league, though his market value has dropped from the €60m Bayer previously asked for.

The Rossoneri have also made inquiries about Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson and Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta. The Senegalese was close to joining Milan when at Villarreal, while discussions with the club’s representatives for Mateta have been held, but no negotiations between clubs yet.
