Alex Jimenez is reportedly closing in on a move to Bournemouth and as a result, AC Milan could opt to sign a replacement in the final days of the mercato.
The last few days have been rather chaotic for the Rossoneri, with a lot happening transfer-wise and Ardon Jashari picking up a serious injury. Therefore, it’s very difficult to tell what will happen in the final days of the mercato, but it seems it could be a good amount.
Among other things, Jimenez has been heavily linked with a move to Bournemouth for around €24m, on a loan with option that could turn into an obligation. If he does leave, then the Rossoneri might have to look for a replacement.
Keeping tabs on Juanlu
According to Corriere dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, Juanlu Sanchez is one of the names that Milan are monitoring. The Sevilla right-back was heavily targeted by Napoli earlier this summer but they have now given up on the player.

At 22 years old and with more experience, it’s believed that Juanlu would handle a starting spot better than Jimenez at Milan. That being said, if Max Allegri opts for a three-man backline, he could definitely survive with Zachary Athekame and Alexis Saelemaekers for the right wing-back role.
In short, it’s not certain that Milan will even make a signing to replace Jimenez, but Juanlu is certainly one of the options if they decide to do that.
