AC Milan made four signings for the midfield during the summer mercato, hoping to eliminate the issues that the Rossoneri experienced last season.
Today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) dedicated a section to Milan’s midfield, seeing just how much it has changed compared to last season. From the departure of Tijjani Reijnders to the signings of Luka Modric, Ardon Jashari, Adrien Rabiot and more, there was indeed a lot of movement.
Above all, head coach Max Allegri and Igli Tare realised that Milan significantly lacked quality in the midfield last season. The department was based on Reijnders and Youssouf Fofana then, while Warren Bondo’s January arrival didn’t exactly help things.

Now, however, it goes without saying that Allegri has both quality and options in midfield. The head coach is optimistic about being able to fix Milan’s chronic issue, more specifically the balance, thanks to the arrivals.
As the newspaper concludes, some are concerned that Milan invested too much money into the midfield and thus forgot a little bit about the other departments. However, starting from the midfield can only be a good thing and Allegri knows it, which is why he approved the signings made.
