Rasmus Hojlund continues to be AC Milan’s main target to reinforce the attack and yesterday, new contacts were held between the parties, according to a report.
Santiago Gimenez is currently the only striker at Max Allegri’s disposal and Milan thus need to reinforce their attack. After evaluating many names for the role, it seems they have settled on Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund, who could leave to get more playing time.
According to Antonio Vitiello for Corriere dello Sport, Milan held new talks with the Dane’s agents yesterday and have now received his approval. As such, the Rossoneri are now ready to ‘accelerate’ their pursuit.
Early next week is the goal
As the journalist continues, there is still an economic difference between Milan and Man Utd when it comes to the buy-out clause for the loan. However, there is optimism that a deal can be reached in the end, while Hojlund is now open to the move as well.

Milan are hoping to secure the go-ahead from all parties over the weekend so that the deal can be secured ‘early next week’ or at the latest mid-week. The Rossoneri’s season starts tomorrow and the first league game is scheduled for next Saturday, so Allegri wants Hojlund as soon as possible.
Compared to just a week ago, there is certainly a lot more optimism surrounding the negotiations and it remains to be seen if that will lead to a total agreement.
