Rafael Leao will undergo tests on his calf muscle on Tuesday to determine how much damage there is, if any.
According to both Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) and Corriere dello Sport, there is some anxiety at Milanello today as Leao will have checks to determine the extent of the calf injury he sustained in Sunday’s Coppa Italia match against Bari.
The feeling is that it shouldn’t be anything particularly serious, but naturally there will have to be caution, given his importance to the team.
No risks taken
The Milan’s medical staff obviously doesn’t want to take any risks so early in the season, so even if a minor issue were to emerge, Leao will be spared for Saturday’s league opener at San Siro against Cremonese.

This is a real shame for the Portuguese and for Massimiliano Allegri too, who risks being without his main driving force and one of the best players this pre-season, as demonstrated by his opening goal against Bari on Sunday.
Leao’s condition is also impacting the mercato because until Milan have certainty about the Portuguese’s recovery time, they will not give the green light to the sale of Noah Okafor, who seems to be one step away from a move to Leeds.
At Casa Milan, the feeling is still positive as Leao’s injury didn’t initially appear serious, but only the tests he will undergo today will reveal the true condition.
