CorSport: Milan ‘not convinced’ by Fullkrug opportunity despite Premier League exit

With AC Milan needing a striker, there are a few obvious options that could be tried for, and the most straightforward may be Niclas Fullkrug.

When he was leaving Germany, there was a lot that pointed in the direction of Milan signing Fullkrug. They were in the market for a striker and wanted a more physical option than what was available to them at the time.

However, Tammy Abraham arrived instead, with the target man heading to West Ham instead. It has not worked out for him, though.

No to Fullkrug

Since moving to the Premier League, he has scored only three times – all of which came last season – and this season he has struggled to make an impact for Graham Potter or Nuno. So, an exit seems almost definite.

His agent stated that the move can be viewed as a mistake now, and perhaps part of him wishes that he had moved to Italy when there was interest.

With the Rossoneri now looking for a physical striker themselves, Fullkrug ticks a lot of boxes on paper. Yet, it seems that he does not hold much chance of moving to San Siro, despite being offered to the club.

As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes, the club are not convinced about him ‘from a technical standpoint’, so a move seems unlikely.
